Mark Clifton, Art Director
Mark is a graphic designer who has been practicing in the areas of Web, print, identity, and type design since 1995. He graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Communication Arts + Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. His typeface designs have been featured in the books Indie Fonts and Typology: Type Design From The Victorian Era To The Digital Age. Prior to joining Beyond Indigo in 2004, he served as art director and led design teams for Richmond.com and RDC Integrated Marketing in Richmond. His mission is to bring thoughtful, innovative, boutique-level design and branding to all of his clients, regardless of size. He lives in Atlanta, and while he doesn’t have any pets at the moment, considers himself a cat person.
Marisa Donahue, Lead Developer
As lead developer at Beyond Indigo, Marisa is responsible for tool development and enhancements and all database development. Prior to joining Beyond Indigo in 2007, she spent 15 years as a programmer for a major insurance company and several years as a freelance Web developer. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts and an Associates Degree in Information Technology. She lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, with a “Sato” rescue dog from Puerto Rico named Pinto and a rescued feral cat named Mojo. She helps present guitar concerts for the Seacoast Guitar Society and is a board member for Seacoast Concert For A Cure, an annual fundraiser that benefits breast cancer survivors.
Alan Earls, Web Writer
Alan Earls is a Boston-area writer with deep experience in B2B and B2C
communications. He began his career as a newspaper reporter and has served as editor of several business-oriented print and online publications. He was a co-author of Best Practices in the Business Press (Kendall Hunt Publishing, 2004) and has written or co-written several historical titles.
Nancy Howard, Web Writer
Nancy brings Beyond Indigo clients’ ideas and thoughts to life by weaving them into words that capture attention. An honors graduate of Boston University, she worked for more than 15 years in every aspect of the publishing industry as an editor, proofreader, writer, designer, and typesetter. She is a published poet and frequent blogger who covers a range of topics, including recipes, politics, human interest, and photo essays, many of which have been Web magazine cover features. She grew up with cats and dachshunds as members of the family and frequently dog-sits her parents’ standard poodles. She is an avid bird watcher and enjoys spending time outdoors observing and photographing wildlife, including deer, turkeys, and the occasional bear that inhabit the woodlands near her New Hampshire home. She studied classical music and performs as a professional singer, and in her spare time serves as a volunteer with local youth.
Tyler Kerxhalli, Project Manager
Before becoming a Project Manager for Beyond Indigo, Tyler worked as the editorial assistant at the Journal of Information Technology & Politics. Tyler will soon be completing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts. His areas of interest include comparative and global politics, and he recently completed an international labor law research internship with a well-established NGO. Tyler enjoys basketball, cycling, and spending time outdoors. He shares his home in Amherst, Massachusetts with one small all-black cat named Sadie.
Neil G. Larson, Graphic Designer and Coder
Neil has been designing and developing websites since the late 90’s. He graduated from the University of Rochester with degrees in digital media and music. In his spare time he produces interactive media, produces audio, occasionally performs around the Northeast with various musical acts. Neil resides on the Somersworth Hilltop with his wife & toddler son. You can listen to his music at www.drnigelaudio.com.
Will Lindus, Lead Project Manager
Will Lindus, Lead Project Manager, got his start in the field of automobile finance. After working in the industry for six years as a customer service manager and debt collections trainer, Will is proof that it is never too late to make a fresh start. Will and his better half make their home in Copperas Cove, Texas where they care for three Australian Cattle dogs named Sybbil, Reyna and Ginger, and a Chow mix named Leopold. In his free time, Will stays actively involved in local community theatre programs. Will is proud to call Beyond Indigo home.
Allegra May, Website Coder and Builder
Allegra is website builder at Beyond Indigo, and sometimes pinch-hits as an editor. She helped develop the overall website development process and is always on the lookout for areas where improvements can be made. Prior to her 10 years of experience in web development, she honed her project management skills at Lucent Technologies. She has designed software development processes, trained engineers for ISO certification, and written a number of guides on multiuse software development and other programming methods. She enjoys doing Web development more than software development because of the color, images, and design opportunities that the Web offers. As the devoted owner of three Samoyed dogs, she has a strong affinity toward veterinarian websites.
Mark Raney, Graphic Designer
Mark has over 20 years experience designing logos and print collateral. As the owner of CRE8, a graphic design company established in 1999, he has designed print and digital pieces for a wide variety of clients. His logos have appeared in major publications and range from a one-man landscaping company to the Crowne Plaza Invitational (a PGA event). He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Arts and Design Technology from Bemidji State University. Prior to starting his own business, Mark was Senior Art Director at DKY Inc., Art Director at Kranzler-Kingsley, and Assistant Art Director at Alpha Graphics Group. Mark currently lives and works in Stillwater, Minnesota, with his wife, three kids, two dogs and seven fish.
Kathleen D. Tresemer, Web Writer
Kathleen came to Beyond Indigo with an extensive background in professional writing. She is a columnist for the The Rock River Times and writes marketing and public relations materials for a number of businesses and organizations. She has won top awards for her fiction and is currently at work on a young adult novel. She holds a Master of Science in Child & Youth Care Administration. She and her family live on a small rural property on the Illinois-Wisconsin border, with 3 horses, 2 goats, 4 dogs and a barn full of cats.
John Webster, Project Manager
Prior to becoming a project manager for Beyond Indigo, John Webster worked as Technical Director for theatre productions and as a customer service manager. After having lived in five different states, and living two years in Germany, John has found a home in Copperas Cove, Texas. He doesn't share his home with any animals right now but his friend Buddy, a small mixed-breed dog, was by his side for 18 years. John still has a keen interest in theatre and has acted in over 20 productions as a volunteer.
